Bitten nails in March 2013 & then shown again end of april 2013
Are you a nail biter? I can help you!
Nail biting is such a common habit and really lowers self esteem. Often nail biters tend to hide their hands and think that they will never be able to have beautiful nails.
This is not the case.
It is known that nail biter's nails actually grow faster than those that do not bite as there is more blood circulated to the nail bed due to the person 'fidgiting' or picking their nails and surrounding skin. Nails are often thin and dry but with regular manicures and maintenance it does not take long to get the nails back to a healthy state.
Biting or picking the surrounding skin also damages the cuticles and makes them dry, hard and sometimes sore. The cuticle also tends to grow up onto the nail plate faster but again, regular manicures will rectify this and will help 'teach' the cuticle to do this slowly.
The above picture shows my own nails. At the end of March I decided to stop completely. I gave myself weekly manicures, applied my cuticle oil twice a day and made sure I didn't pick or bite. It is hard at first but once you start seeing the growth then you think twice about raising your fingers to your mouth.
Stopping biting your nails is possible & I CAN help you.
